At the summing-up meeting of the provincial Labors, War Invalids and Social Affairs sector, Dao Ngoc Hoang (Head of the Department of Labor Policy-Department of Labors, War Invalids and Social Affairs) said that due to effects of the global economic recession, up to now, there had been about 50 enterprises reducing 80,000 labors, mostly ones of garment, leather footwear, electronics, wood processing, etc.

It can be said that, in most of the provincial industrial zones, labors stop work and quit their jobs, mainly because enterprises haven’t created favorable conditions to labors. Most of the labors demanded to transfer careers or returned to their hometown to enjoy Tet holiday and wait for job offer.

The provincial Department of Labors, War Invalids and Social Affairs estimated that, in 2009, enterprises would continue to reduce labors from 10,000 to 15,000.
