The production of commercial electricity has reached or exceeded the plan goals for years. In 2008, 4.8 billion kWh were generated, up nearly 400% compared to 1999. 2008 electricity sales revenue hit more than VND4.2 thousand billion, 5 times as much as in 1999. In addition, the company always reserves a backup power supply system using diesel with an available capacity of 11MVA/ year for Hoa An water plant and transmits electricity to the grid as the national grid management board’s requirements. Annually, it earns a good profit and it has contributed VND659 billion to the national budget the past 10 years.
Together with an increase in electricity output for production and home life, the company particularly focuses on cutting losses, improving power quality with a new investment in and a repair to the electricity grid, ensuring an optimum operation (power load: 70%) for the 110 kV grid and the medium-voltage grid, upgrading the grid from 15kV to 22kV, enhancing the inspection, replacement and maintenance for electricity meters, TU, TI and so on. This results in a decline in the rate of power loss every year. In 2008, the rate of power loss dropped by 2.7% compared to 1999.

The top priority of businesses is to expand their types of customers. Being fully aware of this, the company has taken a close interest in its service quality and customer care and has met its customers’ electricity demand quickly such as handling power failures timely, launching the model of electricity retail service in rural areas, equipping 100% of its electric meter reader employees with handheld electricity meter readers, which help serve their job, managing its customers with the computer software (CMIS) and introducing the regulations on the full installation package of electricity meters ... After 10 years of development, the company has attracted more than 434,000 customers.
One of the company’s important achievements is that it has developed rural electricity networks. To follow the guidelines of the provincial Party Committee and People's Council, the company has attempted to collaborate with local committees and sectors in investing in constructing the medium-voltage and low-voltage grid to sell electricity directly to each household in rural areas. So far, results show that new low-voltage grids in 100% of communes have been invested in. The number of rural households having electricity reached their homes is 97.25% (exceeding the plan goals established in the province’s resolution). These achievements come from its constant efforts and an effective cooperation between local committees and sectors in the process of implementing the rural electrification program. The achievements have created an important premise to help accelerate industrialization and modernization in the rural areas of the province. In addition, early 2008, it invested more than VND11 billion in constructing a 130.744-km low voltage grid to bring electricity to ethnic minority areas and heroic communes and contributed to socialization and returing the favor. Up to now, it has completed and put a 63.383-kilometer low voltage grid in use. The rest is expected to be finished in 2009.
