Particularly, the industrial production of the central state-owned sector is estimated at VND875.51 billion, up 5.6% compared to the previous month. Businesses increasing in-depth investment and extending production have kept maintaining high growth, contributing to the development of local industries. Those are Bien Hoa Coffee Factory, Bien Hoa Chemical Factory (Vicaco), Long Thanh Super Phosphate Factory, Hoa An Stone Exploitation Joint Stock Company, Bien Hoa Sugar Jointstock Company, Net Detergent Joint Stock Company (Netco), Cables And Telecommunication Materials Corporation (Sacom), Vinappro Company (Vietnam Power Products Manufacturer Limited) and so on. Local state-owned industrial sector reaches an estimated value of VND316.93 billion, up 5.8% compared to the previous month. Private industrial sector faced a lot of difficulties in 2009. Thus, privately-owned businesses tended to focus on domestic market, increase in-depth investment, improve product quality and satisfy public needs and tastes. This results in an increase in industrial production value, which is estimated at VND11.251 trillion, up 9.6% against 2008. The industrial production of foreign-invested sector in December, 2009 is estimated to hit VND6.1447 trillion, up 2.8% compared to the previous month.
In 2009, economy underwent a period of difficulties and changes but main industries – agricultural product and foodstuff processing, textile, footwear, mechanic, chemical and so on – continued showing a relatively high and stable growth rate. 8 out of 9 industries achieved growth over the same period. Five industries show an above-average growth rate. Those industries are agricultural product and foodstuff processing, textile and footwear, wood processing, chemical-fertilizer-rubber-plastic, electricity and water supply whose production value are estimated at VND19.633 trillion - up 14.2%, VNd17.756 trillion VND - up 16.2%, VND5.337 trillion - up 12.1%, VND10.782 trillion - up 12.4% and VND1.371 trillion - up 12.2%, respectively.
