According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in January 2009, Industrial production value generated in the province gain over VND6,565 billion (US$373 million), up 7.0% compared with last month, totally in the first two months, it hits VND13,000 billion (US$739 million), up 9.9% in comparison with the same period last year, making up 13.9% of the 2009 plan.

This is the lowest growing rate within several years. Most of enterprises are facing difficulties finding markets for their exports in the first two months. According to management board of IZs, 64 companies have so far had a cut of 8,641 employees in the sectors such as electronics, motorcycles, footwares, motorcycle components and so forth. Their exports contract will be expired after March, 2009, as a result, workers are allowed to be off from work with 70% of basic wage. For those reasons, industrial production growing rate only occupies 9.9%, compared with the same period, which mainly comes from the enterprises starting their businesses after 2007.
