Bien Hoa Celebrates the Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary

On the morning of April 12 (or March 10 on the Vietnamese lunar calendar), Bien Hoa Municipal People's Committee and masses of people performed solemn incense-burning rituals at the Temple of Hung Kings in Binh Da ward, Bien Hoa city.

Masses of people are burning incense in commemoration of the Hung Kings

At the incense-burning ceremony, Bien Hoa municipal leadership reported to the Hung Kings on the city’s achievements in 2010 concerning socio-economic development, hunger-elimination and poverty-reduction, and improvement of people’s materialistic and spiritual life.

To promote these achievements, the Party, the authority and the people of Bien Hoa are committed to striving to make it a more civilized and modern city that deserves the province’s social, economic and political center.

In addition, there were traditional rituals such as incense-burning, and “banh chung - banh day or square rice cake - round rice cake” and flower offerings to ancestors, to commemorate and to show gratitude to Hung Kings and other predecessors who made contributions to reclaiming the land  of Vietnam and constructing the country of Vietnam .

One day ago, the Organization Board for the Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary held other activities like banh chung - banh day cooking contest, folk games and so on.
