The conference’s view

During the past 3 years, the province's archive task has been put into order and gained good results. Material facilities for archive task have been strengthened unceasingly, especially archive storages have been upgraded and facilities to store documents and data have been equipped. The accrued documents were solved. Many units have effectively applied into records and archives management task.  Public employees in charge of archive task have been trained in specialist skills. Dong Nai province’s Archives Centre is storing 24 archive fonts of the Departments and of the provincial People’s Committee from 1975 to 2007 with 45,788 documents. Every year, each district serves 60 turns of people who use documents at the district archive centre,…

In addition to the achievements obtained, there are still some shortcomings in records and archives management task. Particularly, some Departments, sectors and enterprises have not yet paid attention to invest in this task; and mainly public employees in charge of archive task are still young and not trained professionally, which influences the task’s effectiveness. Therefore, in 2010, the province plans to arrange these public employees fully in both quality and quantity, enhancing their skills; and investing in building archive storages as well as applying information technology into records and archives management task.

On this occasion, 16 collectives and 17 individuals were awarded certificates of merit for their excellent achievements in records and archives management task by the provincial People’s Committee.
