14 establishments causing environment pollution under new criteria

On December 30 morning, Vice-Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh presided the meeting on reporting results of classifying and handling violations of environmental pollution under the Circular No.07/2007 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

According to the report by Dong Nai Department of Natural Resources and Environment, there were 14 establishments violating the environment regulations in the first stage of the classification result 2010. Of which, a establishment caused severe environmental pollution (accounting for 7.1%); 13 remaining ones caused environmental pollution (6 ones with water pollution, and 7 ones with air pollution). These establishments were fined a total of VND433 million. As required by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the establishments causing severe environment pollution had to handle their problem before December 31, 2011 and ones causing environment pollution had to handle their problem before June 30, 2010.
