Social activities and childcare
are fostered. The department offers regular allowances to some 17,000 people in
the community who are disabled and children in poverty; grants about 13,000 free
health examination cards to children under six, adding to 346,000 cards in
total, making up 99.8%. Moreover, certain other activities such as heart surgery
support, eye-test support, scholarship granting and urgent relief and so on are carried
out.
