On November 19 morning, Dong Nai People's Committee joined hands with Department of Justice to hold a conference to preliminarily sum up legal work performance and monitor the law enforcement at the meeting hall of the provincial People's Committee. The event was presided over by Vice-Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee Huynh Thi Nga.

The conference's view

According to the report on preliminarily summing up the 6-year implementation of the Decree No. 122 of the provincial People’s Committee, the legal work has been step by step strengthened in service of the province’s socio-economic development. In the 2005-2009 period, the localities in the province had advocated and informed the law, rules and regulations 602 times with more than 116 turns of participants, contributing to a healthy legal environment. Apart from full-time specialized legal officials, legal advisors including lawyers, reporters and editors have also played an important role. It was clearly reported that although the provincial People’s Committee issued the regulations on strengthening the structure of the State, full-time specialized legal officials had not been appointed yet at specialized agencies. There so far have been 71 legal officials in the specialized agencies and state-run enterprises.

Addressing the conference, Vice-Chairwoman Huynh Thi Nga suggested that all competent agencies should early overcome the shortcomings during the past time. Additionally, these agencies needed to pay more attention to the policies on effectively advocating and educating legal officials; to examine the legal work performance; and to process the legal normative documents as stated by law.
