Trang Bom district currently has 4 concentrated industrial parks

(News Portal – Dong Nai) - From an agricultural district with the livestock industry accounting for a large proportion of production value, Trang Bom district has now transformed its socio-economic development structure towards industry and service. To date, the district has 4 active industrial parks attracting nearly 185 FDI projects. In addition, there are 4 local industrial clusters and 1 vocational cluster planned for investment, of which Ho Nai 3 Construction Materials Cluster has been put into operation.

Promote industrial development

According to the People's Committee of Trang Bom district, industrial parks and a local industrial cluster in operation have created a large budget source for the district. At the same time, they have helped attract nearly 112 thousand workers from the locality and from other places to work, creating abundant human resources for the task of socio-economic development, contributing to creating potentials for the task of national defense in the new situation.

Industry and construction is identified as key fields in the local socio-economic development orientation. Therefore, in recent years, the leaders of the district's People's Committee have always paid special attention to directing industries, communes and towns to coordinate and organize the effective implementation of the industrial restructuring program; timely implementation of industrial promotion policies; coordinate the work of compensation and site clearance to build and expand industrial zones and clusters planned in the district to attract investors.

In 2004, there were 3 industrial parks with 85 investment projects, total registered capital of 774.2 million USD attracting 16,580 workers in Trang Bom district. However, currently there are 4 concentrated industrial parks attracting 223 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 3.417 billion USD, of which 185 projects have been implemented with an investment capital of 2.559 billion USD.

After 20 years of development, the industry and construction sector in the district has developed quite rapidly, the production value of the industry - construction sector is always higher than the previous year and has the average growth rate of 17.57%/year in the 2004 – 2024 (compared to 2010). In which the average increase in industrial production value is quite high, reaching 17.97%/year on average. In 2022, the industrial production value accounted for more than 138 trillion VND, 19.6 times higher than in 2004. The proportion of local industry has gradually increased over the years, from 4.93% in 2004 to 2022 to 9.5%; foreign-invested industry accounts for 90.5%, which is the area with the highest growth rate that determines the growth of industry in the area.

Promote the development of trade and service sectors

The production value of the service sector has an average annual growth rate of 17.54%/year in the period 2004-2022. In 2022, the value of the service sector reached 24.8 trillion VND, 18.4 times higher than in 2004. Total retail sales of goods increased by an average of 20.9%/year, an increase of more than 27 times compared to 2004.  

Actively calling for investment in shopping centers, up to now Vina Square Shopping Center has come into operation. The commercial center in Trang Bom town is finishing remaining procedures to begin construction. Transportation, information, post and telecommunications services, bank credit, insurance, and industrial catering services are well developed, meeting the needs of production and people's lives. The field of tourism, entertainment, accommodation, food and beverage business activities in the area continue to grow in scale and diversify in forms.

Tourism activities are invested in and is being developed. The infrastructure serving tourism development is gradually invested following set standards. A number of tourist and entertainment areas have been formed such as Giang Dien waterfall eco-tourism area, Da Han waterfall eco-tourism area, Dong Nai golf course... and the district is one of the popular stop in Dong Nai province. As a result, the number of tourists and the number of days they stay in the area are increasing over the years. In 2022, there were 280 thousand tourists visiting the locality.

Transportation services have had positive changes in both quantity and quality of service. Traffic infrastructure has been invested and upgraded: a network of buses was formed, connecting Ho Chi Minh city with districts, cities and towns; multiple taxi companies and transportation businesses have been established and operate effectively to meet the transportation and travel needs of the people. Freight and passenger transport output also increased. ​
