Strategic preparedness and response plan for Covid-19

As of the morning of February 19, Vietnam recorded a total of 2,347 Covid-19 cases. Of which 1,605 cases were recovered, death-toll remains at 35, the rest are under treatment. From January 25, 2021 to February 18, 2021, the national tally 755 locally-transmitted cases in 13 provinces and cities. In particular, Hai Duong province is 575 cases, far exceeding the figure of the outbreak in Da Nang with 389 cases. Vietnam also recorded 4 strains of SARS-CoV-2. In recent days, cases have mainly been reported in isolated areas of Hai Duong province, 12 other localities have controlled the disease and have not recorded new cases.

Experts predict that the disease situation in Hai Duong is still complicated.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long emphasized that the 3rd Covid-19 outbreak has progressed very complicatedly because many new strains appear. Therefore, all localities need to increase the application of information technology for traceability and drastically implement Prime Minister’s Directive 05 on epidemic prevention and control.
