Provincial leaders visited and worked at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse, Laos

​TTDT - Within the working framework of the Leadership Delegation of Dong Nai province in Champasak province, Laos, on the afternoon of April 9, the provincial delegation led by Mr. Ho Thanh Son, Vice Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited and worked with the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse City, Lao PDR.

Vice Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son presented a symbolic board with the amount of VND 50 million to support the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse to organize a connection program to promote investment, trade and tourism among Vietnam - Laos - Thailand. 

Mr. Nguyen Van Trung - Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse and the officers received and worked with the delegation.

At the meeting, Consul General Nguyen Van Trung informed the delegation about the working situation of the Vietnam Representative Office in Laos and the friendly cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

It is known that the southern region of Laos has a border with the Central and the Highlands provinces of Vietnam, which has a special strategic importance. For Champasak province, there are currently 16 provinces and 3 cities directly under the Central Government of Vietnam that have signed MOUs with Champasak province. Thousands of overseas Vietnamese are living in Lao PDR, 115 Vietnamese businesses are investing in Laos, in which Dong Nai province has Tin Nghia Corporation investing in coffee growing in Paksong district, Champasak province.

​Consul General Nguyen Van Trung highly appreciated the friendship cooperation activities of Dong Nai province for the localities of Laos, especially Champasak province and hoped that Dong Nai province would further strengthen cooperation activities, supporting Lao localities such as providing scholarships for Lao students, training human resources and inviting Dong Nai investors to invest in Laos on the basis of mutual benefits, promoting strengths and potentials capacity of the two provinces.

On this occasion, Mr. Ho Thanh Son – Vice Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee presented an amount of VND 50 million to support the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse to organize a connection program to promote investment and trade, tourism among Vietnam - Laos - Thailand from 9 to 10 April, 2023 in Champasak.​​​​
