Employees participating in interviews at the 4th Job Exchange in 2023
Supporting job introduction for employees
The job exchange in the early April recently attracted many employees with the desire to find new jobs soon. According to many employees, in the past time, they have lost their jobs because businesses have reduced orders, so their lives have been affected. After months of receiving unemployment benefits to overcome difficulties, employees are now mentally prepared to return to the labor market. However, one of the obstacles for employees today is that businesses do not recruit as much as before and require workers aged from 18 to 30. Meanwhile, the majority of employees who lost their jobs are over 40 years old.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (living at Long Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City) has just brought 2 sets of documents to the job exchange to find out recruitment information and interviews. Mr. Tuan said that from the beginning of the year until now, he had applied to a number of businesses with recruitment needs and had participated in direct interviews in a few electronic enterprises. However, currently, the recruitment needs of enterprises are small and the requirements for skills so he had not found a job so far. “A worker like me, over 40 years old, so it is very difficult to find a job. Although businesses had posted many job vacancies, the skill requirements are very strict. Hope to join the job exchanges, I will soon find a suitable job "- Mr. Tuan shared.
And Ms. Le Thi Huyen (from Ha Tinh province) stopped her job at the beginning of January because her business cut down workers. Nearly a month ago, she has passed through industrial zones in Bien Hoa City to find a job but businesses did not recruit many new workers, there were places that needed workers but they were not suitable. Recently, through the job exchange, Ms. Huyen has learned that Son Ha Co., Ltd. (Bien Hoa City) has been recruiting workers for the garment industry, so she has applied for an interview. According to Ms. Huyen, due to her own experience in sewing, she initially met the recruitment needs of the enterprise. If the interview is successful, she will try the job for 1 week before officially joining the enterprise.
Recording at job exchanges at the beginning of the year, the number of enterprises participating in recruiting labors is not as much as before. The reason is that enterprises are stabilizing labors or changing structure, orders decreased and they do not recruit more workers. At the recent job exchange, enterprises engaged in recruitment mainly recruited export, finance and insurance workers, so there have been few suitable positions for employees.
In order to support workers to find jobs soon, especially workers who are receiving unemployment benefits, in the first 3 months of 2023, Dong Nai Employment Service Center organized 3 job exchanges, attracting more than 66 enterprises registered with the recruitment demand at the exchange of nearly 2,500 employees. Accordingly, there were nearly 700 employees recruited through interviews at the exchange.
Connecting jobs in many forms
According to Dong Nai Employment Service Center, in the first quarter of 2023, more than 300 enterprises in the province had the needs to recruit 12,000 workers, corresponding to 1,508 job positions. In which, the majority are unskilled workers, accounting for more than 77% of the total recruitment demand. Recruitment industries such as: sewing, weaving, dyeing, leather shoes account for about 48%; Mechanical, electrical and electronic industries account for more than 17%, the rest are other fields. Accordingly, enterprises have recruited nearly 7,000 workers; In which, the Center has introduced 3,000 unemployed workers to enterprises that need to recruit.
Director of Dong Nai Employment Service Center Tran Thi Thuy Tram said that over the past time, the center had increased propaganda for workers and businesses about job exchanges, especially workers who were receiving unemployment benefits to know recruitment information and needs to find jobs soon. For some businesses that have not yet been able to recruit or have not yet recruited enough workers, the center would continue to support job postings at the office of the center and the portal, Zalo, and fanpage managed by the center.
For businesses and employees that could not participate in face-to-face interviews at the exchange, the center supported advises and provided information to help employees contact businesses to submit interview documents. “In the coming time, the center will strengthen counseling and introduce jobs for employees at the center and 5 representative offices in districts and cities in the province, creating all favorable conditions for unemployed workers to return to the labor market soon" - Ms. Tram shared.
In addition to connecting jobs among businesses and employees, workers receiving unemployment benefits are guided by the Dong Nai Employment Service Center to register for free vocational training to have opportunities to change careers to match the trend jobs that businesses need. In which, the training majors include: repair of sewing equipment, sewing clothes, informatics, accounting... In addition, the center cooperates with Rosa Culinary and Cosmetology Vocational Training Company to train laborers in skills of baking, beverage, make-up, hair cutting. After the course, employees are granted vocational certificates and introduced to work at units and enterprises.
Accompanying with employees, provincial Trade Unions have supported to introduce unemployed workers to enterprises with recruitment needs. Chairman of the Long Khanh City Labor Confederation Truong Thi Bich Lien said that in order to support workers to find jobs soon to stabilize their lives, the City's Labor Federation published recruitment information of businesses daily on the fanpage for employees to know recruitment information, needs and job positions of enterprises. In addition, it was suggested that grassroots Trade Unions firmly grasped the labors relation situations, difficult enterprises must cut down labors to have timely forms of support.
According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, in 2023, Dong Nai is expected to create jobs for about 80,000 workers. In the second quarter of 2023, in addition to strengthening the propaganda of labor market information and recruitment needs of enterprises so that employees can know and find suitable jobs, Dong Nai Employment Service Center will promote the organization of job fairs to connect jobs between enterprises and employees, especially workers who are receiving unemployment benefits.
