The region of Ho Chi Minh City will be subdivided into subregions and economic development corridors, of which the central urban subregion includes Ho Chi Minh City and the vicinities in Long An, Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces.
Economy of the eastern sub-region
According to the planning, the eastern sub-region includes Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces. According to the adjustment plan, the region of Ho Chi Minh City covers the entire administrative boundary of Ho Chi Minh City and seven neighboring provinces including Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An, Dong Nai and Tien Giang.
