Manufacturing machines for production of sand and stone as construction materials

Choosing the field of mechanics, specializing in manufacturing, stone crushers for quarries from the North to the South, Mr. Vu Van Toan, Director of Trang Minh Duc Production Trading Co., Ltd (Bien Hoa City) said that the products of his company have been exported significantly to Cambodia.

With a rather "unique" field, orders from businesses are always plentiful, especially when many large infrastructure projects have been started. However, Mr. Toan also encountered many difficulties, especially in the current period when the price of imported materials and machinery components skyrocketed.

 Cheaper than the machines imported

Mr. Toan said he has more than 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering and manufacturing. The production of stone crusher systems and lines at that time was also very suitable when the economy was "booming", leading to a continuous increase in the demand for quarrying for infrastructure construction. In 2003, he established a mechanical manufacturing facility to manufacture stone crushers and in 2007 upgraded to a business to meet operational needs.

From making small capacity products, providing components to repair machines for systems when there is a problem... gradually accumulating experience, Mr. Toan entered into larger production. When the customer believe that his machine have been used stably, the price was reasonable, from which the partner ordered spare parts, so the factory's operation flourished. In particular, materials, iron and steel for the production of components and stone sieves must be imported because domestically produced steel cannot meet the requirements. Products are domestically produced but raw materials are still imported, so the problem of production costs and value optimization for both suppliers and partners must always be a top priority.

“I am a mechanic, well-trained in school, but most of my experience and knowledge I have gained through practice and reality. Doing this job gives us a lot of experience because unlike other industries, everything has to be studied carefully and learned gradually," Toan said about his start-up process.

Thanks to the ability to manufacture imported replacement machines, his products are offered to the market at affordable prices, even with machines costing half as much as imported ones. For example, each small machine with a capacity of 250 tons per hour if imported from Japan, the costs will be more than VND20 billion, from Korea is about VND16 billion and from China is more than VND10 billion, but manufactured in Vietnam it costs only VND8 billion.

Reserve materials for production

Not only making stone crushers and sieves, but according to Mr. Toan, in recent years, the need to build large national infrastructure projects, build factories, and civil houses is increasing rapidly, so the raw materials and construction materials are increasingly scarce, especially construction sand. This is a highly exploited resource that will affect the environment. Having experience in making stone grinders, Mr. Toan has researched to produce artificial sand screening lines and has been ordered by more and more customers.

Regarding the development trend in the coming time, Toan said that the demand for stone mining for road, brick and sand making is very high, so the mining industry still has high potential for development. He will continuously update advanced technology to change production and produce more efficient crushers.

Another issue that businesses are concerned about today is the rising price of raw materials, especially specialized steel structures. This affects business plans and profits. Therefore, Mr. Toan has been making efforts to stockpile raw materials for machinery manufacturing in the face of market fluctuations. "Taking advantage of the conditions, we will have to hunt for the necessary materials to reserve, currently, the demand for raw materials has increased, but finding the suppliers is not easy," Mr. Toan added.
