Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chairs the conference.

According to a report by the Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association, currently exporting wood processing enterprises in Vietnam are facing many difficulties, the working time of workers is decreasing by over 30% and the output of products is reduced by over 30%. Product volume decreased by over 40% compared to the first months of 2022. Many factories are currently facing difficulties in ordering in the last months of the year, orders have become slow or even canceled, large volume of inventory, etc. Particularly In Dong Nai Province, although the export turnover in the first 6 months of 2022 still reached about US$900 million, equivalent to the same period last year, in the last 2 months, exports have decreased a lot, especially for domestic enterprises.

At the conference, the delegates discussed options to minimize these difficulties, ensure the source of raw materials, interest rate support programs, thereby helping export wood processing enterprises to maintain production and business activities, contributing to ensuring the export targets planned.

Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee shared that this conference is an opportunity for relevant ministries, branches, localities and associations to find short-term solutions to remove difficulties faced by wood processing enterprises. In the long term, state management agencies, associations and businesses should closely, and synchronously coordinate to find new and potential markets; expand production, cooperate in production investment with foreign enterprises; developing wood material areas for domestic plantations, gradually reducing imported timber.
