According to the Department of Planning and Investment, since the beginning of the year, the number of Japanese enterprises investing in industrial sector in Dong Nai has increased sharply. By the end of October 2017, Japanese businesses invested in 229 projects, which is equivalent to nearly $ 4 billion, in the province, an increase by more than $ 160 million compared to the end of 2016. Japan is currently ranked third among 43 countries and territories making investment in the province.
Japanese companies mostly invest in industrial zones, whereas there are only six projects outside the industrial zones. The main fields of investment include: electronics, electronic components, computers, machinery, and mechanical engineering. Over the last 3 years, many small and medium enterprises from Japan have come to Dong Nai to invest in supporting industries. All projects involve modern technology; some plants have adopted automation technology in almost all stages, which requires only 5-10 workers.
