Improve the quality of treatment of dengue fever, Hand, Foot and, Mouth disease (HFMD)

On the morning of June 8, at Dong Nai General Hospital, the Department of Health organized a training session on the treatment of dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease and post-Covid-19 for more than 200 staff, medical staff and doctors from public and non-public hospitals, general clinics, and medical centers in the province.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health said that from the beginning of the year, the province has recorded more than 4.3 thousand cases of dengue fever, increasing nearly 64% over the same period last year, of which more than 65% are cases of children under 15 years old. In addition, more than 2,700 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease were recorded. The province has recorded 4 deaths from dengue fever. Tan Phu District is a locality with a sharp increase in the number of dengue fever cases and the number of severe dengue fever cases in the province.

The purpose of the training session is to update the diagnosis and treatment of dengue, hand, foot and mouth disease, post-Covid-19 to improve the capacity of medical staff for early diagnosis and active treatment and minimize the complications for the patients. At the same time, guiding the rehabilitation and self-care after Covid-19 for medical staff.

At the training session, presenters from the Professional Division, Department of Health, Dong Nai General Hospital, Thong Nhat General Hospital, Dong Nai Children's Hospital presented 6 topics including: Diagnosis, treatment of dengue fever in adults; Diagnosis and treatment of Dengue fever in children; Guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of hand, foot and mouth disease; Post-Covid-19 in adults; Post-Covid-19 in children; Rehabilitation and self-care for related diseases after Covid-19 infection.
