Promoting Dong Nai cultural strengths

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong, National Institute of Culture and Arts of Vietnam, the development of infrastructure for the cultural industries is extremely important in the process of transforming natural resources into cultural products. In countries such as the US, Japan, Korea, etc. all develop the cinema, music and game industries on the basis of the ICT system (Information Communication Technologies, this word is understood as Information and Communication Technology). This system ensures the quality of transmission, access and assessment of market demand. The development of infrastructure will help ensure a favorable digitalization platform for the development of resources, increase the way to reach the audience, and provide the ability to quickly adapt to trends in the cultural industry.

From a manager's perspective, Dr. Nguyen Hong An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that cultural development is now placed on the same importance with socio-economic development. Investment and development of cultural industry is inevitable. Based on the characteristics and advantages, Dong Nai has the advantage of cultural development in a number of fields such as performing arts, heritage tourism combined with the application of digital technology. In addition to the rich heritage system, Dong Nai has the Dong Nai Art Theater and the Arts and Culture Intermediate School, which trains high-quality human resources for the arts industry. Particularly for cinema, Dong Nai is not a strength because the current state-owned cinemas' equipment system has not been developed compared to private cinemas.

Focus on training qualified human resources

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Quyet, Lecturer at Dong Nai University, in order to develop cultural industry, it is necessary to encourage and create conditions for cooperation and development relationships, especially unique cultural institutions in the area. For example, among heritage destinations, cultural and historical sites, craft villages; complete cultural planning. In order to train a generation of the public to appreciate traditional values and enjoy modern culture, it is necessary to innovate the exploitation method; strengthen the connection between the traditional and the modern while bringing newness, compatibility with common values, cultural fusion, increasing openness and diversity.

Dr. Truong Duc Cuong, Rector of Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts, said that applied art is part of cultural art. In the curriculum, in addition to preserving the national identity from fashion design, ceramic training, sculpture, fine arts, photography, etc., the school promotes practical work, helping students experience and connect, at the same time, with businesses.

“Although the demand for this industry in Dong Nai is not much compared to Ho Chi Minh City, the number of annual enrollments has reached and exceeded the target, graduates all find suitable jobs with relative stable incomes. In the coming time, the school will continue to focus on building facilities, training human resources, and nurturing talents. Training high-quality human resources with new style and modern thinking, capable of applying modern technology to create advanced works imbued with national identity” - Dr. Truong Duc Cuong emphasized.
