The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) hopes Dong Nai will continue to create favorable conditions for Japanese businesses to expand their investment

On the afternoon of June 7, Mr. Mizushima Kozo, President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) led a Japanese delegation paying a courtesy visit to the provincial leaders on his re-election as JCCH Chairman. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments received the delegation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee informed the delegation about socio-economic development as well as investment attraction of the province.

Specifically, in Dong Nai Province, there are investors from 44 countries and territories with more than 1.5 thousand valid projects, total registered capital of more than US$32.4 billion. In which, there are 263 Japanese projects with a total investment capital of over US$5 billion and ranked third in foreign investment in Dong Nai.

Regarding international cooperation, the Provincial People's Committee has signed 14 memorandums of understanding, international cooperation agreements (MOUs) at provincial level and 5 MOUs at departmental and sectoral levels with Japan. Recently, in Hanoi, in the presence of senior leaders of the two countries Vietnam and Japan, Dong Nai signed a memorandum of cooperation with Aeon Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd. on the decision to invest in the commercial center named Aeon Mall in Dong Nai.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee also wishes Mr. Mizushima Kozo and JCCH to be the bridge to introduce Japanese businesses to Dong Nai to learn about the business investment environment. Leaders of the provincial People's Committee also said that, towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in 2023, the two sides will have many activities with economic and cultural events for the anniversary.

Mr. Mizushima Kozo thanked Dong Nai government for always accompanying Japanese businesses to invest in the province. The JCCH President also highly appreciated the efforts of the province in the past year when the Covid-19 epidemic was complicated, but the province always paid attention and promptly solved difficulties for businesses to maintain production.

Mr. Mizushima Kozo also proposed that the province continue to support and accompany Japanese businesses, creating favorable conditions for Japanese businesses to expand investment in Dong Nai.
