Enhancing the propaganda for workers to stay in Dong Nai Province to celebrate the Tet Holiday

According to the Provincial Confederation of Labor, up to now, although employees have returned to work stably, the situation of Covid-19 disease is still complicated, workers' lives have still faced difficulties. Facing the above situation, the Trade Unions all levels have made efforts to propagate for employees to stay in Dong Nai to celebrate the Tet Holiday in order to ensure the health safety and avoid the risk of disease spread.

Propaganda in many ways

Chairperson of the Provincial Confederation of Labor Nguyen Thi Nhu Y said that in the context of complicated disease spread, the infected cases in the company still exist, to help protect the workers’ health, and limit the spread of the disease, on the 2022 Lunar New Year, companies’ Trade Unions will not grant the free bus tickets and will not provide the workers with free busses to come back their hometowns for the Tet Holiday as before. Instead, the Trade Unions from the provincial to the grassroot levels will focus all resources to support the union members and employees to celebrate the Tet Holiday right in Dong Nai Province. The Provincial Confederation of Labor will allocate the gifts to the agencies in lower level so that they will directly give those gifts to the employees. In particular, the agencies pay much attention to the union members who live in the difficult circumstances, suffering from serious diseases, having labor accidents, losing their jobs unexpectedly during the Tet Holiday, union members who get infected with the Covid-19 virus.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Y, the support activities extended to the employees during the Tet Holiday will be better than before in order to match the actual local situation and respond to the hopes and expectations of union members and workers. In addition to organizing meetings and giving gifts at the end of the year, the companies’ trade unions will provide with the gifts to the very end of the hostels where workers still stay in Dong Nai to celebrate the Tet Holiday. The gifts will increase in number to ensure all workers can enjoy a traditional Tet Holiday. At the same time, the Provincial Confederation of Labor will direct the grassroot trade unions to enlist of the disadvantaged workers who do not have plan to return to their hometowns or lose their jobs so that the Trade Unions will timely give them the gifts for the Tet Holiday.

In addition, the companies Trade Unions will propagate in many ways so that the union members and employees staying in Dong Nai Province to celebrate the Tet Holiday, avoiding travelling a lot to protect the health and limiting the risk of disease transmission. The Provincial Confederation of Labor directs the Trade Unions to cooperate with businesses to support employees with many activities so that these employees can enjoy Tet Holiday right in Dong Nai Province with peace of mind. Along with that, soon announce the salary and bonus policy to encourage the working spirit of employees before and after the Tet Holiday. In addition, strengthen dialogue activities, negotiate policy benefits for employees during the Tet Holiday. Implement the measures to prevent the labor disputes happened during the Tet Holiday to help ensure the security and social order in the locality.

At a recent meeting with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son said that the upcoming New Year in 2022, it is predicted that there would be a lot of workers staying in Dong Nai Province to celebrate the Tet Holiday. Joining hands with the Trade Union system, the Provincial Party Committee will support the budget expenditure to create conditions for the Trade Unions in all levels to have more funds to better improve the material and spiritual lives for the workers. The Provincial Standing Deputy Secretary also asked Dong Nai Trade Unions in all levels, businesses and localities to strengthen the propaganda so that workers can still stay in Dong Nai Province to celebrate the Tet Holiday with safety, good health in the situation of the increasing Covid-19 disease; at the same time, those workers will work hard, contributing to the rapid recovery of the production in enterprises.

 

Strengthening the supports for employees during the Tet Holiday

Following the direction of the Provincial Confederation of Labor, up to now, Trade Unions at all levels have implemented plans to organize the Tet Holiday for union members and employees. Most of the Trade Unions have increased the number of gifts than previous years and encouraged the employees to stay in Dong Nai Province to celebrate the Tet Holiday.

The representative of Long Thanh District Confederation of Labor said that right after implementing the plan to celebrate the Tet Holiday, the district Confederation of Labor directed the Trade Unions to persuade the workers to stay in Dong Nai Province to celebrate the Tet Holiday, ensuring their health when they are back to work after the Tet Holiday. Along with that, in order to encourage employees to work hard at the end of the year, the Trade Unions have had more detailed activities and practical so that employees can feel the sharing and companionship of Trade Unions, businesses, that motivate them to celebrate the Tet Holiday away from home.

Many Trade Unions have plans to increase the provision with the Tet gifts to union members and employees living in the rental dormitories to celebrate the Tet. Vice Chairperson of the Trade Union of Chang Shin Vietnam Company Ltd (located in Vinh Cuu District) Doan Thi Kim Loan said that this year, despite the difficult situation, the Trade Union of the company will prepare nearly 40,000 Tet gifts to give to employees. For people facing special difficulty, the Trade Union will go to their rental dormitories to support and motivate the employees. In addition, actively support relatives and families of workers who passed away from Covid-19 to share the loss with them. Regarding salary and bonus, the company decided to keep the salary as the previous years in order to express the gratitude for the consistence and companion of the employees extended to the company. Particularly, workers who stay in Dong Nai and not come back their homeland for the Tet Holiday, the Trade Union will have the concerned and practical encouragement so that those workers do not feel homesick when celebrating the Tet Holiday away from home.

Similarly, the Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone is strengthening propaganda and asking the workers to have careful consideration when deciding to come back their homeland for celebrating the Tet Holiday to ensure the epidemic prevention. A representative of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone Trade Union said that in the unpredictable situation of diseases, the living standards of the people still face difficulties. Therefore, employees should choose the option of staying in Dong Nai Province to celebrate Tet Holiday for continuing their jobs after the holiday. By this way, the employees can keep themselves healthy, and save time and money from traveling. The Trade Union of Bien Hoa Industrial Zone plans to increase the number of Tet gifts, and celebrate the meeting for those who do not return their homelands for the Tet.

Companies with a large concentration of workers have urgently enlist and report about the rented accommodation workers who do not return to their hometown to celebrate Tet, in order to provide timely support and encouragement. In addition, Trade Union officials also encouraged employees to seriously implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, limit movement, maintain hygiene and ensure 5K measures. At the same time, encourage the dormitories’ owners to share difficulties with employees, pay attention to reduce rent for disadvantaged workers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic when staying in Dong Nai to celebrate Tet.
