Dong Nai promotes the digital economy

In the new development trend, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the process of digitization and development of the digital economy not only in Vietnam but all over the world. To match the development trend as well as seize opportunities and take advantage of potentials, Dong Nai is also making efforts to promote and transform towards the digital economy.

 Striving to be in the top 10 nationwide

According to the results of the assessment of the level of digital transformation of ministries and provinces in 2020, announced by the Ministry of Information and Communications in 2021, Dong Nai ranked 20th, at the average level of the whole country. In which, the digital government pillar, Dong Nai ranked 25th. The province's rank in 2 pillars of digital economy and digital society is 29 and 16 respectively.

To promote the digitization of the economy, Dong Nai Province aims to be in the top 10 in terms of digital transformation in the country. Over the past time, the province has taken steps in digital transformation in most fields from state management to production and business of enterprises. Departments, branches and localities apply information technology to the management and settlement of administrative procedures to simplify, shorten time and costs for people and businesses. Businesses in Dong Nai also have a digital transformation plan, starting from the conversion of modern machinery and equipment, automating many stages in production, reducing labor but still increasing the output of goods, ensuring quality and quantity.

 

Increase the proportion of contribution to the economy

In the 5-year period (2021-2025), Dong Nai will focus on building and effectively exploiting essential platforms for the development of digital government, digital economy and digital society. The digital transformation development strategy is associated with the local socio-economic development strategy. In particular, the province will maximize the capacity and creativity of each organization and individual, build a roadmap and accelerate the process of digital transformation in each industry, each field according to the characteristics of Dong Nai. Striving to 2030, the digital economy accounts for 30% of GRDP. To create a breakthrough in socio-economic development in the 2021-2025 period, the province must develop a sustainable economy on the basis of strong research and application of science and technology, innovation, and increased productivity, supporting to promote the creative start-up movement, take advantage of opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution, towards the digital economy.

 

Along with the general policy of the province, businesses in Dong Nai also have plans for digital transformation. According to Chairman of Dong Nai Wood and Handicraft Association Le Xuan Quan, wood is one of the province's largest manufacturing and exporting industries. Dong Nai wood industry is aiming to build its own brand, attracting the wood world to Dong Nai. In the near future, there will be an e-commerce platform for the wood industry so that businesses inside and outside the province have more opportunities to cooperate and work together.
