Dong Nai increases 3 levels on provincial competitiveness

On May 5th, 2020, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has just released the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) of 63 cities and provinces across the country.​
 

Accordingly, Dong Nai reached 65.82 points and ranked 23/63 provinces and cities, ranked fairly. Compared with the results of the PCI survey in 2018, the total score of the province in 2018 increased by 1.98 points and up 3 places compared to 2018.

In 2019, some criteria have significantly improved compared to 2018 such as Time cost (increase 1.02 points), competitive equality (increase 0.79 points), The dynamism of provincial governments (increase 0.49 points), Transparency (increase 0.47 points), Labor training (increase 0.43 points), Business support services (increase 0.34 points), Legal and Security institutions order (increase 0.22 points). In particular, the time cost index has an impressive growth rate of 8.02 points (ranked 7/63 provinces / cities), showing that the time for solving administrative procedures and public services has decreased significantly compared to the last years.

Beside, there are still some indicators that decrease in comparison with 2018 are Unofficial costs (decrease 1.21 points), Market entry costs (decrease 0.99 points), Land approaching (decrease 0.13 points).

The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) is one of the sociological surveys aimed at assessing the business environment, the quality of economic administration and the administrative reform efforts of the provincial and municipal governments. Vietnam, thereby promoting the development of the domestic private sector. The 2019 PCI is summarized based on feedback from more than 12,429 businesses, including nearly 10,846 private businesses operating in 63 provinces and cities and 1,583 foreign-invested enterprises.
According to the PCI survey results in 2019, Quang Ninh continues to hold the leading position with 73.4 points; Dong Thap continues to rank second with 72.1 points. The next provinces and cities in the top 10 provinces and cities include Vinh Long, Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Ben Tre, Long An, Hanoi and Hai Phong..
