(CTT-Đong Nai) – On June 18th, the groundbreaking ceremony of Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway was held in Phu My commune, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. Attending the ceremony are Mr. Tran Hong Ha - Member of Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; and leaders from departments, offices and local administrations.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Member of Party Central Committee and Provincial Party Secretary; Central Standing Committee member, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Mr. Thai Bao; Central Standing Committee member, Chairman of Provincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front – Cao Van Quang; Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee – Mr. Vo Tan Duc; and other leaders of departments, offices, local administrations represented Dong Nai's side.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project phase 1 was approved by the National Assembly following the investment decision stated in Resolution No. 59/2022/QH15 dated 16/06/2022. At the length of 53,7 km, the section goes through Dong Nai province is 34,2 km in length, and the remaining 19,5 km runs through Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
Vehicles and machineries used in the construction
In which, the connecting point with the 1A National Highway bypassing Bien Hoa city, 6,5 km away from the Vung Tau junction (located 1,5km away from the intersection between Bien Hoa city and National Highway 51); the last point is at the intersection with 56 National Highway in Ba Ria city, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. The total investment for this project is over 17,8 trillion VNĐ. The first phase of this project is planned to initially complete in 2025, and fully operated in 2026.
At the bridge point in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Chairman of Ba Ria-Vung Tau's People's Committee, stated that this expressway will basically solve the inter-regional traffic problems, for example: synchronously operated with the North-South expressway in the East, the Long Thanh International Airport, and connecting economic centers and seaports. In addition, it will maximize the potential of Cai Mep – Thi Vai seaport, satisfy the transportation's needs, as well as generate space and motivation to develop the South Eastern region's technical and social infrastructures….
