Quickly deal with difficulties for clean water supply projects

​(CTT-Đong Nai) – On June 23th, Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, held a meeting with other departments, local administrations, and Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company (DOWACO)to discuss about difficulties that water supply projects are having in the province.

As per DOWACO’s report, currently the company and its subsidiaries/affiliated companies are implementing a number of water supply projects in the province. However, most of these projects encountered problems and difficulties. Specifically, there are 3 groups of projects including projects implemented by DOWACO under the province’s clean water supply scheme from 2021 to 2025; projects implemented by Long Khanh Water Supply Joint Stock Company under the province’s clean water supply scheme from 2021 to 2025; projects implemented during stage 1 and stage 2 by Thien Tan Water Supply System and Nhon Trach Water Supply System. 

At the meeting, Dong Nai Water Supply Joint Stock Company and other departments, offices and local administrations discussed difficulties, and problems during the projects’ implementation. Most of them involve land legal procedures, and land clearance compensation. According to Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, the province had issued the Clean Water Supply Plan to 2025, every involved department should base their implementations on given tasks. On specific matters, the province’s leadership asked departments and offices to cooperate with companies and other involved parties to review and report back as to find solutions as soon as possible. The province’s target is to have 90% of its population in the city and 85% in the countryside having access to clean water by 2025; and stop allowing the use of groundwater in the province. Therefore, the completion of a clean water supply system is essential to this plan.
