This is also the model that environmental management agencies and consumers want.
No antibiotics and banned substances
Dong Nai is home to a large concentration of livestock in the country. In recent years, farms have applied biosafety raising processes, no antibiotics, and no banned substances to create clean products for the domestic market and for export.
Director of Lan Chi Co., Ltd (Lam San commune, Cam My district) Lam Thi Lan Chi said: “The farm always ensures a stable supply and good quality of seed for customers thanks to the model of raising ducks without antibiotics. The benefits of not using antibiotics are high reproductive rate, healthy seed, and limited risks related to weather and disease. Save money on vaccines."
According to Ms. Chi, on average, Lan Chi hatchery sells 500-600 thousand ducks to the market every month. In the process of raising, she uses ingredients such as: ginger, chili, garlic, cinnamon soaked with honey or alcohol to create "medicine" to help ducks increase resistance.
At Dong Phat cattle farm (Xuan Dong commune, Cam My district), the organic farming model has been applied since 2018. Cow's feed is not bran but is an agricultural by-product, which is thoroughly checked for nutritional composition as well as pesticide residues. The camp uses probiotics to eliminate odors and disinfects with lime powder.
Deputy Director of Dong Phat Livestock Company Limited of Hoa Phat Group (Xuan Dong Commune, Cam My District) Nguyen Van Ngon shared: “Australian cows raised by the company have good physical strength and high disease resistance, so they do not use antibiotics. At the same time, the company pays special attention to the quality of feed and drinking water for cows in order to create a clean environment to limit the generation of bacteria.
Besides breeding without antibiotics, many cattle and poultry farms in the province have applied models such as: VietGAP, biosecurity, traceability to reduce risks of disease, reduce waste generation, at the same time creating clean products to meet the increasing demands of consumers.

Creating quality products
Clean livestock contributes to environmental protection and towards sustainable development. This is a model that has been encouraged by the province for many years. There are many farms that perform quite well, but there are still some farms that do not treat waste up to standards.
Deputy Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Cam My district Nguyen Thi Xuan Vien said that in the past few years, the number of livestock establishments in the district has increased sharply. In order to limit environmental pollution, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development have implemented solutions such as: bio-safe breeding, environmental testing, disinfection, but still have livestock facilities. foster violations. In 2022, through the feedback of the people, the department coordinated with related parties to inspect and detect 4 livestock production establishments violating environmental regulations, including one that was issued a decision to sanction by the Provincial People's Committee with a fine of 196 million VND.
“In the coming time, the locality will step up environmental inspection and penalize farms that have not done well in environmental protection. At the same time, the district will organize training courses on animal husbandry safety for farms and people to limit pollution and improve the quality of livestock products "- Ms. Vien shared.
According to the Director of the Environmental Protection Sub-Department Le Van Binh, most livestock establishments comply with specific environmental protection laws: invest in the construction of a wastewater treatment system, contracts with functional units for solid waste treatment, using chemicals or biological products to reduce odors. Besides, there are still livestock establishments that do not comply with regulations on environmental protection. This year, the Department will strictly control livestock farms, strictly handle cases that cause environmental pollution.
Clean livestock is the solution to create clean products to meet the needs of the market. At the same time, this is also a solution to reduce the risk of disease in livestock.According to the statistics of the Environmental Protection Department, by the end of 2022, Dong Nai has 1.4 thousand concentrated breeding establishments, of which there are 1.2 thousand cattle breeding establishments and more than 300 poultry production facilities.
In 2022, the Provincial People's Committee and functional agencies and districts have fined a total of 32 livestock production establishments causing environmental pollution, the total amount of fines is more than 3 billion VND.
