(News Portal – Dong Nai) – On the morning of September 20, at the Reception Hall of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, along with representatives of various departments and sectors, hosted a courtesy meeting with Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of the Consul General's conclusion of his term in the city.

During the meeting, the Indian Consul General noted that during his term in Ho Chi Minh City, he had made significant efforts to foster cooperation between India and Viet Nam in general, and between India and Dong Nai in particular, across various fields such as trade, investment, culture, education, and healthcare. Numerous Indian business delegations have visited Dong Nai to explore the market and establish investment partnerships. Similarly, many companies in Vietnam have shown an interest in investing in India. The trade volume between the two nations continues to rise. Over 100 Indian universities have come to Vietnam to seek collaboration opportunities in education and high-quality workforce training. During his term, the Consul General successfully facilitated official visits to India by representatives from 21 out of 29 provinces and cities in the consular region. Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi expressed his gratitude to Dong Nai Province for supporting and facilitating cooperative activities between the two sides over the past years. He also mentioned the potential for further cooperation in fields such as information technology, healthcare, education, aviation, infrastructure development, and the construction of metro and railway lines.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc highly appreciated the attention and efforts of the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City in general, and of Consul General Madan Mohan Sethi specifically, toward Dong Nai Province during his term. He also expressed gratitude for Mr. Sethi's contributions in fostering the cooperative relationship between Dong Nai and Indian partners. In recent times, cultural exchanges between Dong Nai and India have been vibrant, with activities such as the annual International Yoga Day held in the province, the 2022 Indian cultural exchange performance “Parindey: Music of the Soul," and the successful organization of the Indian Odissi Folk Dance performance, which has further strengthened cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges between Viet Nam and India, as well as between Dong Nai and India. Besides cultural exchanges, the Indian Consulate General also coordinated with Dong Nai to successfully organize the Investment Promotion Conference for Indian businesses in the province as well as other economic and trade activities.

Chairman Vo Tan Duc expressed his hope that in his new role, Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi will continue to support Dong Nai in its cooperative activities with Indian partners in the future. He also wished Mr. Sethi success in his new position.
