In the last 5 years (2015-2020), many transport infrastructure projects such as overpasses, tunnels, parallel roads ...has built and operated, contributed to relieve traffic congestion in some areas in Bien Hoa city.
Many works are effective
Tam Hiep roundabout is the intersection of major roads including Pham Van Thuan street (to the center of Bien Hoa city), Bui Van Hoa street (to Industrial Parks, Highway 51) and Highway 1 (to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa). During the peak hours, the amount of vehicles in Tam Hiep roundabout was very large. Big and small vehicles trying to encroach little by little, so traffic jams and congestion often occur. Therefore, conflict and confrontation between drivers is too much, leading to a very complicated situation of traffic order and safety
On July 4, 2014, The Tam Hiep tunnel was constructed, and by the end of April 2015, it completed after nearly 1 year of construction. Tam Hiep tunnel project is located in Dong Nai Bridge project, it reduce traffic conflicts between drivers, traffic accidents as well as traffic jams have been well resolved.
Since the Amata overpass was completed construction and used in March 2015 which has facilitated for vehicles on Highway 1. There are 4 lanes for cars, other vehicles such as motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles traveling on parallel roads on both sides. For this reason, traffic congestion is reduced compared to the past.
Mr. Le Quoc Quan (living in Long Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City) said that car and motorbike drivers moved in the Highway 1 from the North to Ho Chi Minh City did not have to run with other vehicles at the bottom, so it contributed to reducing traffic jams. More importantly, since its in use, the "black spot" of traffic accidents at the Amata intersection has now been removed.
Tan Phong intersection connects the wards: Tan Phong, Long Binh, Tan Hiep with a large density of transportation, concentrated many industrial parks of Bien Hoa city so there are frequent congestion, especially during peak hours. Traffic jams that have been going on for years really make people tired and anxious.
On August 8, 2017, Tan Phong tunnel was started to be construction, becoming the third tunnel in Dong Nai after 2 tunnels of Tam Hiep and Vung Tau intersection. After operation, the tunnel under Tan Phong intersection has contributed to reducing traffic congestion for the inner Bien Hoa city. Currently, vehicles passing through this intersection are stable, there is no longer the same traffic jam as before. Especially, motorbikes that can ride through the tunnel have increased the capacity to escape vehicles, reducing traffic conflicts at this intersection, making people more assured.
Urgently continue to implement transportation projects
The Provincial Traffic Safety Board said that traffic works were operated in the period of 2015-2020 include: overpasses, Vung Tau intersection tunnel, Amata intersection overpass, Tam Hiep tunnel, Tan Phong intersection tunnel, An Hao bridge and Dang Van Luong street connecting Vung Tau intersection with Hiep Hoa bridge go to the center of Bien Hoa city.
According to the provincial Traffic Safety Board, The traffic works at complex intersections has changed and completed the city's traffic infrastructure, thereby limiting congestion and traffic accidents, helping people travel more conveniently and safely.
Recently, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the construction of Hoa An bridge tunnel to connect Nguyen Van Tri street and Dong Nai riverside road from Hoa An Bridge (Bien Hoa city) to Vinh Cuu District. The tunnel is expected to reducing vehicles for Buu Long intersection to Huynh Van Nghe street and road 768 (towards Vinh Cuu District)
According to the design, the length of enclosed tunnel is 40m, clearance 4.5m; the length of open tunnel is 360m; the length of two-end tunnel path is about 220m. The total investment of the project is about 310 billion VND from budget capital. The project is expected to be completed in 2024. Previous, the Provincial People's Committee also proposed the Ministry of Transport to direct investor Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) to study and build tunnels to cross the Amata overpass in the direction from Dong Khoi street into Amata Industrial Park.
The traffic works has contributed greatly to reducing congestion, removing traffic accident "black spots" at these intersections. However, investment in transport needs a huge amount of capital, so urgent transportation projects need to be prioritized to ensure smooth traffic for the urban area type I of Dong Nai province.
To synchronize the transport infrastructure of Bien Hoa city, in the coming time, continuing to implement key projects such as: central arterial road, Thong Nhat Bridge, Cai Riverside Road, Dong Nai Riverside Road ... In there, the most anticipated the project is upgrading and expanding Bui Van Hoa route from Tam Hiep roundabout to the intersection avoidant Highway 1) and Trang Dai - Tan Hiep inter-ward road. This is one of the key projects of Bien Hoa city, is expected to relieve the growing congestion in the city's most popular wards.
Vice Chairman of Bien Hoa City People's Committee – Mr.Huynh Tan Loc said that in the coming time, Bien Hoa city would coordinate with related parties to speed up compensation, resettlement and land recovery for clearance. The projects will help traffic in Bien Hoa more smoothly, develop socio-economic in the locality.
