Adjust the scale of the Eastern Transshipment Warehouse project due to source of goods calculation

The warehouse construction project in the East was approved by the Provincial People's Committee with a master plan ratio of 1/5000 in 2011 with an area of ​​about 1.4 thousand hectares in 4 communes: Giang Dien, Quang Tien, Hill 61 and Tay Hoa of Trang Bom. However, since the regional master plan was approved until now, although the Provincial People's Committee and departments have invited many investors, there are no investors accepted to implement the project.

Therefore, from 2016 up to now, the Provincial People's Committee has made partial adjustments to the general planning, reducing the project area to more than 600 hectares within 3 communes of Quang Tien, Giang Dien and Hill 61.

According to the adjustment plan of the consultant, the Eastern Transshipment Warehouse is built with the goal of creating a warehouse area as a link in the logistics supply and distribution channel to serve the transportation needs. Satisfying the needs of transporting goods to and from the region in an optimal, create most suitable way for current and future regional and socio-economic conditions, to support production in the industrial regions as well as intra-regional and inter-regional trade. The scale of goods transportation by road is about 175 million tons / year, and by railway about 500 million tons / year.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Cao Tien Dung assigned the Department of Construction to consult with localities in the region on transshipment sources to have a general report to calculate the construction scale as well as investment phasing of the East Transshipment Warehouse construction project. For the first phase of the project, it is necessary to minimize the implementation of land acquisition by the people. Reviewing the railway system development plans connecting to the North-South railway line to ensure transshipment of goods for the project.
