46 years after the country's reunification, from an initial industrial park (IZ), Dong Nai now has 35 industrial zones planned with a total area of ​​over 12,000 ha, of which there are 31 zones have been put into operation and filled up 82% of the area. As of April 2021, the province's industrial zones have attracted 1,363 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 27 billion USD. Some industrial zones such as Amata, Bien Hoa 2, Nhon Trach 3, Long Duc are national models in infrastructure construction as well as investment attraction.

Production and business in industrial zones have created a huge output of goods for domestic consumption and export. The total revenue of industrial zones in the period 1995-2000 reached over USD 5.6 billion and increased to more than USD 20 billion in 2020. Besides increasing goods, industrial zones also contribute an increasing source of income. If industrial zones contributed 21 million USD in 1997, it increased to 235 million USD in 2005, it contributed over 940 million USD to the state budget by 2020.

The fast and sustainable development of Dong Nai industrial zones today is the result of a methodical and creative process of management, administration and investment promotion. Including solutions on administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for investors, the government accompanies businesses (DN) is the motto of Dong Nai.

Besides the achievements in attracting foreign investment, the development of domestic enterprises has also achieved positive results. In 1985, Dong Nai had only 115 state-owned enterprises and 2,101 handicraft production establishments. In 2020, the province had over 27,000 businesses operating. The focus on supporting the development of domestic enterprises has always been focused to contribute to improving production values, increasing export turnover and participating in effectively solving social problems such as job creation, hunger eradication, poverty reduction...

Rapid development of trade-service

Regarding foreign trade activities, Dong Nai's goods have now been exported to 171 countries and territories, of which the export to the US market is leading (25.8%), next by China (10.4%). %), Japan (10%), South Korea (5.47%)... Particularly in the 2016-2020 period, the total export turnover from Dong Nai reached US$88.4 billion, which was the province's trade surplus period.

For domestic trade, the total retail sales of goods in 2020 reached more than VND 143 trillion, nearly 300 times higher than in 1990. Dong Nai's commercial infrastructure has developed remarkably with 148 markets and 8 shopping centers and 11 supermarkets are operating. In addition, there are 195 convenience stores that always contribute to stabilizing the supply and demand of goods and people's consumption.

Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Le Van Loc said that every year, the Industry and Trade industry develops a plan to stabilize prices in the market, which takes into account negative impacts such as natural disasters and epidemics. The initiative from the management agency and the business community help to keep the goods market smooth and undisturbed, especially during holidays and Tet.
