Russia increases punishment for revealing state secrets.

- Russia House of Representatives has just approve some amendment and supplementation to Criminal Act in order to increase punishment for “Spying on and revealing state secrets”.

Accordingly, the regulations on “Spying on and revealing state secrets” include: supporting finance, material-technique, consultancy and other forms of aids for foreign countries of international organizations which badly affect the benefits of citizens, national security, constitutional institutions, territorial integrity and national integrity of the Russian Federation; illegally stealing or collecting information; kinds of fraud, bribe or use of force to collect information…

Together with the above amendment and supplementation, the punishment for spying on and revealing state secret is increased, including fine increasing from 200,000 – 500,000 Russian rubles (equal to 6,500 – 16,000 USD) or sentence to 3 – 8 years in jail.​​
