A group of students of Faculty of Mechanics and Electrics (Lac Hong University) successfully made an assembly machine for coil products and transferred it to Nec Tokin (Vietnam) Co., Ltd (with 100% Japanese investment capital, located at Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Zone).
The automated assembly machine for coil products was studied, designed and tested for 3 months before being transferred to Nec Tokin. Student Le Van Binh, the group leader said that, after signing the contract, the group started to make the machine upon the request by Nec Tokin which should be compact, highly productive, almost absolutely accurate and definitely safe for operators. “Practically, it takes the machine 3 seconds to make a product, instead of 60 seconds manually. Moreover, a technician can operate 2 or 3 machines at the same time with defect rate of 0.1%”
As this is the agreement on technology making and transfer made by students and enterprises, the payment would be made after successful transfer and stable trial operation, which has caused many difficulties in studying and making the machine for the students. Mr. Pham Van Toan, Vice Head of Faculty of Mechanics and Electrics of Lac Hong University said that: “In order to facilitate the students to fulfill the agreement, the faculty proposed the university to lend the students an amount of capital; after the payment is made, the students will return the capital to the university and retain the profit”.
Mr. Konno, Technical Director of Nec Tokin (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. said that: “Formerly, we often placed orders of machinery from Japan or China with high expenses, and waited for their maintenance when technical problems occurred. After receiving the automated coil assembly machine made by Vietnamese students, the company decided to sign another contract to buy 7 more ones.
