The first Technical Creativeness Contest of Dong Nai province was launched in 1990. Over 15 years, 10 contests are successfully hold with 253 solutions participating in these contests and 154 solutions were awarded prizes. For this reason, Dong Nai is second province (after Ho Chi Minh City) which has held contests for a large number of times.

In 2005, the Technical Creativeness Contest attracts the participation of 38 solutions. These solutions are graded basing on 9 fields such as: mechanics, electronic, transportation, agriculture, information technology, food industry, education and training, healthcare and environment protection. 18 of which have been awarded prizes consisting of 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 8 consolation prizes.

To encourage the popularizing of technical achievements and to attract creative solutions to all fields of sciences and technologies, since 2001 Dong Nai has combined the technical creativeness contest with the government Program No. 6 which mobilizes people from all walks of life to create solutions to their works and studies. With the combination of these two different types of contest, the provincial technical creativeness contest has gained more concerns of many people. Through 5 contests, the government Program No. 6 has got the participation of 535 solutions and 149 of which has awarded prizes. In 2005 alone, 155 solutions compete in the provincial contest and 33 solutions have been awarded prizes.

15 years of establishment and development, the contest has become a prestigious award and turned out to be a good playground for people of all ages and working in many different fields. They are amateur scientists, engineers, teachers, students, disabled or farmers who devote all their efforts for the shake of other people.

“The great number of solutions participating in the contests over the past few years reflects the strength of technical solution encouraging movement in the province. However, it does not correlate with the potential of Dong Nai province. There are many latent people who are not discovered, many solutions that have not competed in the contest, especially in foreign invested enterprises. We are figuring out ways to persuade them to take part in the contest. As for winning solutions, we must apply them in real life.”, said in exchange with us, Dr. Pham Van Sang, Director of Dong Nai department of Science and Technology and deputy head of standing organizing board. To make it convenient for people to compete in the contest, the Department of Science and Technology has constructed online register service for contestants. This service is officially put into use from today April 1st 2006.
