Socio-economic situation in February 2014

​1. Economic sectors: 

-Up to Date February 14, 2014 the total cultivated area of the province winter-spring crop is 34,439 hectares, equivalent to 82.8% of the plan, up 4.9% over the same period.

- Total revenues in the province reached 14% of estimates, rising 11% over the same period. 

- Export turnover reached 14.3% of the plan, up 12.7% over the same period. The import turnover reached 12.8% of the plan, up 1% over the same period. 

-Total retail sales increased 13.1% over the same period.

-Consumer Price Index February 2014 increased by 0.54% as compared to January 2014 and increased by 3.97% compared to February 2013, increasing 1.19% on month 12/2013. Gold price in February 2014 increased 2.45% over the previous month and decreased 23.12% over the same period, down 0.36% month on month December 2013. U.S. Dollar Index February2014 increased 0.03% from the previous month and up 1.31% over the same period and fell by 0.11% compared to December 2013.

-Cargo: Cargo production rose 5.6% in transportation and 5.8% over the same period of rotation. 

-Passenger transport: passenger transport increased by 6.4% and 6.6% on the same period last year.

-From the beginning to February 15, 2014, the total newly registered capital and FDI projects increased approximately 330.4 million, 41.3% of the plan year, an increase of 48% over the same period.

-Attracting investment in the country: from the beginning of the year to date February 15/2014, domestic investment is 1,700.5 billion (4 new projects), 22.7% of the plan, up 30 times over the same period.

- Since the beginning of the day February 15, .2014, the total registered capital is now 2.220 billion (including registered capital and registered capital increase), reaching 34.2% of the plan, up 2% compared to the same period. Including 307 new businesses established with registered capital of 963 billion and 49turns of enterprise registered additional capital of 1,257 billion VND.

2. Cultural - social fields: 

-Continue the dissemination of provincial resolutions, organized cultural activities, sports, tourism, celebrate spring 2014, celebrating 84 years of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3), military recruitment propaganda in 2014 ...

-Participate in technical science competition for national high school students in Can Tho; professional inspection of schools meeting national standards, organizations of topical subjects; provincial high school excellent teachers contest (round 1).

-Strengthening the prevention of diseases, especially viral diseases usually occur in the winter-spring such as H1N1, H5N1, hand, foot and mouth disease ... Increase control, early detection of cases of H7N9 virus and prevention of dengue fever.

-February 2014, to create jobs for 6,375 workers; accumulated this year were 13 243 jobs for workers, 14.7% of the plan, up 0.5% over the same period.

-Collect Ministry of Home Affairs report on the training and retraining of cadres, civil servants in the province according 1956/QD-TTg Decision of the Prime Minister.
