In the afternoon of June 04th, at a meeting with Mrs. Marjorie Yang, Chairwoman of Esquel Group (from Hong Kong) which specializes in producing, processing and trading textile and garment products; Vice-Chairwoman Phan Thi My Thanh stated that Dong Nai government and people always highly appreciate the contributions of FDI businesses in local economic development.
In terms of the incident caused by bad individual’s extremist actions on May 13th and 14th, Vice Chairwoman affirmed that Vietnamese Government in general and Dong Nai government in particular, imposed many practical measures to support FDI businesses to quickly stabilize their production. In the upcoming time, more focus is put on information exchange between the government and enterprises. Dong Nai authority also pays more attention to adopt some preventative measures to handle similar incidents which may occur in the future. Enterprises should have their own security team and care for fostering the close relationship with their employees so that workers will become the enterprises’ protectors for the mutually beneficial partnership.
Mrs. Marjorie Yang said the company still has faith in the investment climate in Dong Nai province. Up to now, Esquel Group has invested in 3 projects in such provinces as: Dong Nai (Amata Industrial Zone), Binh Duong and Hoa Binh. The company not only creates employment for labor force, but also brings the added value for textile and garment industry due to modern technology.
