On October 4, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai and Vice Chairperson Phan Thi My Thanh received and worked with Vedan Chairman Tou Shiung Yang on the occasion of his business trip in Vietnam.

On behalf of the Vedan Group, Mr. Tou Shiung Yang gave his thanks for the deep concern and warm welcome from the leaders in the province. He also apologized for the environmental incident caused by Vedan 2 years ago. Mr. Tou Shiung Yang said Vedan was trying to improve its image by investing in production systems that meet environmental standards. He added that a number of foreign partners now wanted to cooperate with Vedan to expand production scale and that Vedan planned to provide housing for workers. Therefore, Yang expressed his desire to be able to receive support from local state agencies in the future.

Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai appreciated and encouraged Vedan’s idea of ​​expanding investment and providing housing for workers in Dong Nai and added that Dong Nai would soon complete and put into operation Highway 51 as well as upgrade transport infrastructure along with trading ports, which would facilitate goods transportation. Also, the provincial leaders pledged to create favorable conditions for Vedan to invest in Dong Nai.
