On January 19 morning, the provincial Farmers Association held the 5th comprehensive conference of its Executive Board (Term 7) to wrap up its activities and movements for famers in 2009 and deploy directions and missions for 2010.

According to the report from the provincial Farmers Association, from the earlier this year till now, the associations of districts, Long Khanh town, and Bien Hoa city have admitted 12,752 people into it, reaching 115.92% of the target, raising the total membership of the province up to 208,274, in which the number of membership involving in its activities regularly accounts for 79.55 and its key membership occupies over 44%.
In 2009, the association continued promoting movements of farmers emulating for the title of outstanding producer and businessman, helping one another alleviate hunger and eliminate poverty, which was considered the key program of the association. At the end, there were 82,000 households receiving the title of outstanding producers.
Via the movement, it called for its divisions and cadres to help farmers with capital, science-technology, experience so that they can escape from poverty and stabilize their live. Besides, the association organized movements for its membership, for example, movement for solidarity and mutual help and rural infrastructure construction, movement to build cultural life in residential areas, especially the deployment of campaign “learn ,and follow Uncle Ho’s moral example”, etc.
At the conference, the association requested Vietnam Central Farmers Association to award certificates of merit to 21 collectives and 26 individuals having superior achievements in its activities and movements for farmers 2009. The provincial association decided to award certificates of merit to 15 collectives and 20 individuals fulfilling their responsibilities well in 2009.
