Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoe, Chairman of the Co-operative on Agriculture and Small Industries and handicrafts in Long Khanh commune, specializing in producing various types of mushrooms said that: Each month, the cooperative makes about 40-50 tonnes of diversified funguses in average: cat’s ear mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, straw mushrooms, etc. In addition, if the client require higher output, the co-operative can “collect the goods” in other farms to meet the customer demand.
However, at present, 90% of the mushrooms produced by the co-operative have not sold to stable market, only sold to traders and regularly endured the price squeeze. “Through research, we know that Binh Phuoc have border gate to export commodity to Cambodia. This is also the potential market for farm produces consumption. Therefore, we participated in this conference with the expectation to find the partners in exporting mushrooms, particularly the cat’s ear mushrooms”, Mr. Hue confirmed.

Managing to find the market of rambutan but receiving no satisfactory answer, Mr. Pham Huu Danh, Team Leader of Thai rambutan cooperation group (Lac Son hamlet, Quang Trung commune, Thong Nhat district) shared his opinion: Now, different types of rambutans are planted in more than 200 hectares in Quang Trung commune, of which about 50% is Thai rambutan. More than 20 tonnes of rambutans are supplied to markets in harvest season; however, they have just consumed a little and having been sold in the market. The rambutan growers are always worried about the unstable price. “Rambutans are purchased by traders and through middlemen so the price increases; the growers have to suffer the loss. I hope to connect with businesses in Binh Phuoc to export the products directly to Cambodia market”, Mr. Doanh stated.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dong, Director of Gia Kiem Co., Ltd, major in post-harvested agro-processing also expected to learn and cooperate with partners to establish Argo-processing factory in Binh Phuoc commune and export the products. According to Mr. Dong, from Cambodia border gate, farming products can be easily exported to other countries. This is a favorable condition for businesses to expand the consuming market.
Potential market
Mr. Vo Dang Khoa, Director of Investment- Trade- Tourism Promotion Centre of Binh Phuoc said that: Binh Phuoc province is located in the key economic zones of the south, has a favorable geographical location and potential to attract investment, trade, especially in the field of export-import from three border gates: Hoa Lu, Hoang Dieu and Loc Thinh. In 2013, the total import-export turnover of the province reached 100.5 million USD and attained 28.2 million USD in the first quarter of 2014. Along with cooperative partnership, friendly exchanges with the provinces bordering with Cambodia are also constantly being strengthened, contributing to create a border of peace and stability; promoting provincial businesses to extend investment and production overseas. "With 3 large border gates to Cambodia, particularly Hoa Lu international border gate, with import-export goods reaching 71 million USD in 2013; Binh Phuoc has great potential to cooperate with Dong Nai in import and export of agricultural products. I expect Dong Nai businesses to learn, coordinate with enterprises in Binh Phuoc province to overcome difficulties of "output" for agro-products” said Mr. Khoa.
Mr. Hoang Chuan, Director of Hoang Phu Cashew nuts Import-Export Co., Ltd. in Binh Phuoc province confirmed that in the short-term, the company will collaborate with Thai rambutan cooperation group (in Lac Son hamlet, Quang Trung commune) to export the rambutans to Cambodia market. “The cooperation will be conducted directly or indirectly (introducing the procurement agencies) but I insist that the cooperation will be "big". Today, we sign a minutes of cooperation to have the basis for the next specific arrangements ", Mr. Chuan said.
At the conference, 11 enterprises in Dong Nai signed a minutes of cooperation "To connect for agro-products consumption at wholesale markets and procuring businesses in Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc." This is a "condition" for Dong Nai farm produces to be exported to Cambodia market.
