Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People’s Committee, Phan Thi My Thanh receives a delegation of Taiwanese journalists

​On June 18th, Deputy Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Phan Thi My Thanh warmly welcomed delegation of Taiwanese reporters led by Mr. Bui Trong Van, Head of Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei in their working visit to Dong Nai.




This working visit is aimed for Taiwanese journalists to learn about the investment environment, activities to ensure security and safety for foreign investors in Dong Nai province. Taiwanese reporters were concerned about how Taiwanese businesses damaged by recent workers’ demonstration against China’s illegal acts in the sea. And how Vietnamese Government and leaders of Dong Nai province have detailed policy to support riot- affected businesses and activities to maintain security and safety for investors when the incident occurred and may reoccur later, etc. 

Vice Chairwoman of PPC, Phan Thi My Thanh affirmed that the incident has caused damage to not only foreign investors but also Vietnamese government and people. Right after the disturbances, Dong Nai authorities fully and timely carried out the supporting policy of the Government for riot-damaged businesses. Workers also responded to accompany and share difficulties with business owners with practical actions such as:  reducing workdays, working overtime. The government has always paid great attention to secure safety for investors. Accordingly, most of damaged businesses have resumed operations and still have confidence in investment environment in Dong Nai. Vice-Chairwoman of PPC expected the Taiwanese journalist to convey the spirit that local authorities always creates safe and reliable investment environment for Taiwanese enterprises and people. 

With 290 projects capitalized at a total of $ 4.7 billion, Taiwan ranked first in terms of the number of investors in countries and territories in Dong Nai province. Taiwan is also a dominant partner of Vietnam in various fields, such as: huge export market of Vietnamese labor forces; tourism of which the number of Taiwanese tourists ranked fifth among international visitors to Vietnam, etc.
