In October 2015, export turnover of cashew kernels reached nearly 26 million USD, increasing by 2 million USD compared to the preceding month. In October, 33,700 tons of cashew kernels were exported, reaching the turnover of 241 million USD and increasing by 29% over the same period last year.
According to several cashew kernel processing enterprises in the province, this year’s export of cashew kernel increased in terms of both price and quantity. However, they did not see any increase in profits.
The reason for this is that raw cashew kernels are mainly imported from many countries all over the world, and the import and shipping prices are so high, which affects the profits of enterprises. Currently, deep-processing cashew kernels of Dong Nai province have been exported to 10 markets in the world. This is one of the two agricultural products that have the highest turnover in Dong Nai province, after coffee beans.
