However, electricity suppliers can’t dismiss their concerns and electricity efficiency programs remain long-term goals.

In recent times, the national power grid’s electricity supply that is supplied for parts of the country tends to be lower than common needs.

For example, the last dry season EVN just supplied Dong Nai Power One-Member Limited Company Dong Nai with more than 18 million kWh. Once, the supply was less than 18 million kWh. Meanwhile, the province’s actual electricity demand is 20 million kWh per day.

In order to seek for an electricity supply for production and household use, Electricity has put forward a lot of solutions, including rotating power cut plans in every region, especially power cut plans applicable to manufacturer clients who consume nearly 80 percent of the company’s power supply.

Under this circumstance, many manufacturers have designed energy efficiency plans for an attempt to reduce production costs, and take initiative in their business activities.

Statistics show that in 2010-2011 dry season the company’s 79 clients bought generators. In addition, 445 others with monthly power consumption of over 100,000 kWh on average have taken energy efficiency measures.

In fact, during the shortage of electricity, Electricity’s officers and employees did not care about difficulties to travel to all the regions of the province to examine the electricity reduction efficiency of the public lightings, and advertising lamps in urban areas.

At this time of the year, Dong Nai Power Company’s employees are in charge of energy saving programs are both propaganda people and those who put forward energy efficiency solutions that are applied in office and manufacturing areas in plants or factories.

They are required to talk with businesses about how to reschedule their operations in need of electricity in peak hours and reduce the electricity consumption by 5 to 10 percent.

If every household replaces a traditional light bulb with a florescent light and administrative agencies cut down on the electricity consumption of a bulb in the workplace in a reasonable way, much of inefficient electricity costs will be reduced.

The province’s recent energy saving experience shows that if every household replaces a traditional light bulb with a florescent light and administrative agencies cut down on the electricity consumption of a bulb in the workplace in a reasonable way, much of inefficient electricity costs will be reduced

In fact, energy saving is not something called “stingy" when a designed workplace lacks necessary light. Energy efficiency is understood as how to put electric devices in a right place so that they can help with your work effectively.

For instance, when one office staff is not at work, the first thing that he or she is required to do is to turn off all electric devices like lamps, fans, and air conditioners.

In the long run, if farms and household ranches know how to use biogas for their household electric devices, each of them will be able to save a considerable amount of electricity and costs.

The models that use biogas for lighting purposes in Trang Bom, Long Khanh and other regions show much efficiency.

The Sales Manager of Dong Nai Power One Member Limited Company Tran Viet Ai said that in recent months Electricity hasn’t had to apply rotating power cut plans.

This means a better and bigger electricity production. The problem here is that the rainy season has begun but power supply will face up with certain difficulties if we do not continue applying energy saving programs.

Therefore, in the forthcoming time Electricity will closely cooperate with Department of Trade and Industry and the media in enhancing propaganda programs and activities that help raise public awareness of energy efficiency.

Particularly, for administrative agencies, functional agencies will compile the statistics of these units’ monthly power consumption, and inspect all their energy efficiency programs.

Besides, Electricity will boost up the dissemination of the benefits of using of water heaters and other solar energy devices.

For industrial clients, if they agree to cut down by one percent of their energy consumption compared to their needs, they will be supplied with sufficient electricity in the future.
