Vo Phong, Chief of Long Duc 2 Hamlet, Tam Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district says, as usual, this time of year is the cashew season. However, in Long Duc 2 hamlet and many other regions in this commune, thousands of hectares of cashew plantation had fruits dispersedly and flowers in almost all of trees.

Flowering in an improper period shows a big crop loss this year. If any area of cashew plantation produces a big crop, it’s just around four quintals/hectares. Price of cashew now is VND17,000/kg or so, and then farmers will lose much. According to Phong, this is the three successive years of loss in Tam Phuoc.
