Deputy Minister of Ministry of Trade and Industry Nguyen Nam Hai and Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Vo Van Mot attended the ceremony.
Documentary films of 60-year establishment and growth process of Trade and Industry were shown at the ceremony.
For Dong Nai province, its strong growth of Trade and Industry in the past years has made significant contributions to a transition in economic structure towards a reduction in agricultural proportion, and an increase in industry and services proportion.
Particularly, industrial proportion continuously rises from 52.1 percent in 2000 to 57.2 percent in 2010.
Services proportion rises from 25.6 percent in 2000 to 34.1 percent in 2010.
Up to now, there have been 30 industrial parks in Dong Nai.
12 out of 45 industrial parks are operational.
In addition, Dong Nai has ten large supermarkets and trade centers and nearly 200 old-format markets to meet production and public consumption needs.
An exchange with former leaders of Trade and Industry is held
Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Mot highly appreciated Dong Nai Trade and Industry’s efforts and contributions to the province’s economic development and emphasized that it should keep promoting its strengths, and focusing on the following tasks:
- Play the role of an advisor for the province in production and business development, exports promotion, over-import curb, and energy efficiency.
- Focus on making industrial parks and clusters develop effectively, making trade promotion programs change for the better, making contributions to price stabilization and market management.
In addition, many other activities such as the establishment of Trade and Industry Former Officers Liaison Committee, the exchange with former officers, and the certificate-of-merit and commemorative-medal awarding ceremony for exemplary officers and individuals were held at the ceremony.
