On the afternoon of August 09th, in Hanoi, Ministry of Traffic and Transportation and investors held a signing ceremony for the Contract of investment in component project one construction (Km0+00 – Km123 +105.17), which belongs to the Project of investment in recovering National Road 20 under the form of build-transfer (BT)
The total budget for the component project one is 4,590 billion VND; starting at Km0+000 (Dau Day junction, crossing National Road 1 at Km 1842+400, belonging to Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province); ending at (Km 123+105.17, crossing provincial road 725, belonging to Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province).
The total length of the route is about 123.1km, in which the part needs recovering is 109.55km long (including 6 bridges, in which: 1 large-sized bridge, 3 medium-sized ones and 2 ones of small size)
The project of investment in recovering National Road 20 from Dong Nai province to Lam Dong province is divided into two component projects with the total budget of more than 7,648 billion VND.
The project starts at Km0 (Day Giay junction, crossing National Road 1 at Km1833 + 400, belonging to Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province); ends at Km 268 (crossing National Road 27 at Km220, belonging to Dran town, Don Duong district, Lam Dong province). The total project length is 227.9 km (the length of the entire route is 268km).
The basic route direction is remained the same as that of current National Road 20 and locally realigned, which is planned to be upgraded to conform to the standards of delta road level III, mountainous road level III and mountainous road level IV. The will be 16 newly constructed bridged including 2 large-sized ones, 4 medium and 2 small with the similar width of each road section depending on its scale in the entire route.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Traffic and Transportation Dinh La Thang made a request up investors to speed up the deployment of the project because after 30 years of operation, National Road 20 – the main link among the south-eastern provinces and the Central Highlands has been severely degraded, badly affecting transportation and socioeconomic development of the areas.
Besides, National Road 20 is also an important traffic route serving the transport of Nhan Co Bauxite products, meeting the demands for traffic in Dong Nai, Lam Dong provinces and localities in the region. Therefore, the Minister Dinh La Thang requested the project owner to create the Committee on land clearance and coordinate with localities that are located in the scale of the project to carry out land clearance as scheduled, make sure to clear at least 10 km of land which should be enough to deploy the construction
Construction units must be ready for facilities and workforce of all categories as soon as possible after land handover.
The Minister Dinh La Thang also directed Project management Committee to be adamant in managing the project; forcing disqualified construction units that slow the progress to leave the project.
