In the first six months this year, VND56 billion (US$3.19 million) raised for fund for the poor, making up 100% of the planned target, up 167% compared with the same period last year, in which Central Policy Bank offered VND50 billion and VND6 billion from local budget.

Thanks to timely loans, many of the poor gradually get rich.

In terms of preferential policies, some 4,000 households get loans, with total lent capital of VND50 billion (US$2.85 million), hitting 40% of the target and 35.71% of distributed capital. Earlier this year, because local authorities had the poor households checked in accordance with new poverty standard, rate of lending was low; but the highest rate came in the last couple of months.
