From July 1, 2009: Riders Travelling on Electric Bikes and Electric Motorbikes Have to Wear Crash Helmets

As informed by the Dong Nai Department of Transport and Communications, riders travelling on electric bikes, electric motorbikes have to wear crash helmets from July 1, 2009 as conventional motor riders.

New regulation implemented wearing helmet when on electric vehicles

    As regulated by the newly amended road traffic law, electric motorbike is seen as a kind of engine-powered motorbike (powered by electric engine and human trampling force), a kind of rudimentary vehicle, however its speed can be high, riders have to wear crash helmets.

    According to Dong Nai Department of Transport And Communications, number of electric bikers and electric motor bikers in Dong Nai increasingly gets enormous, especially in Bien Hoa city, mostly secondary school students. For their safety and the law enforcement, the department plans to coordinate with other departments and sectors, particularly schools to propagate and popularize the amended contents before the law takes effect.
