Program of Dong Nai Newspaper to present 550 wheeling-chairs to the poor disabled .

To conduct cooperative program between Dong Nai Newspaper, Global Community Service Foundation (GCSF) and Thien Ha Trade and Service Ltd. Co., 550 wheeling-chairs costing about VND6,00 million were handed over to poor disabled in province in the East and West of South Vietnam from 16th to 19th April 2008. On the morning of 19th April, the program was started out by handing over 190 wheeling chairs to the disabled at sports house of the provincial Department of Sports and Physical Training.

This is the first time that Dong Nai newspaper collaborating with Global Community Service Foundation (GCSF) and Thien Ha Trade and Service Ltd. Co.in organized the program to hand over wheel-chairs to disabled with the aim of helping them improve their life as well as give them more advantages in moving and their livelihoods.  

Of 550 wheelchairs, 190 wheelchairs are delivered to Dongnai; 104 wheelchairs are delivered to Ba Ria-Vung Tau; 53 wheelchairs are delivered to Tien Giang; 77 wheelchairs left are delivered to Ho Chi Minh city, Soc Trang, Kien Giang, Ben Tre, and DakLak.  

GCSF made the effort to help 550 disabled in Vietnam enable to move and earn their livelihoods. This is a non-profit organization having headquarters in Washington D.C. GCSF works to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty in Southeast Asia by implementing community based projects in Myanmar and Vietnam. Marcia Selva, the founder and chairwoman of GCSF says, “ Unless there is cooperation between those organizations and Dongnai Newspaper, a lot of disabled in Vietnam still have difficulty in moving and in earning their livelihoods”. So far, GCSF has offered over 1,600 wheelchairs to the disabled.
