The whole province has now 47,000 documents of policy beneficiaries including war invalids, diseased soldiers, martyrs, senior officials, senior communist cadres, Vietnamese heroic mothers, heroes of the people’s armed forces, heroes of labors, revolutionary contributors, and resistance war activists affected with toxic chemicals, etc. In parallel with ensuring the implementation of preferential policies and regimes towards people with meritorious services to the revolution, the province did not let unreasonable situations or any delay happen. For the past years, Dong Nai Department of Labors, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) has focused on solving the documents of policy beneficiaries and urgently identified 4,533 documents of war invalids, martyrs, revolutionary activists and resistance war activists affected with toxic chemicals. In addition, the province also boosted the tasks of surveying and seeking martyrs graves and regrouped more than 300 martyrs graves. The province now has 6 martyrs’ cemeteries with over 12,700 graves.

Most diseased soldiers and fallen heroes’ relatives who are now lonely in the province have received necessary support. As a result, the province has raised the living standard to the average level and above for 98% of poor families with meritorious services to the revolution; having 100% of wards and communes which had well implemented the preferential treatment policy.

In addition, the province also provided preferential treatment in education and training for more than 6,000 children of revolutionary contributors, and health insurance cards for 17,860 turns of people with meritorious services to the revolution. Specially, the province solved allowance regimes for eligible subjects under the Decision No.290/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister of Government for 1,690 cases (of which 416 cases of People-Government-Party block, and 1,274 cases of martyrs). 3,800 revolutionary contributors received treatment and convalescence in Nha Trang, Long Hai, Vung Tau and Da Lat, and 3,900 eligible subjects received convalescence at homes, etc.

For the past 5 years, the province has raised over VND21,351 million to the “Gratitude Fund”; repairing 1,833 houses and building 78 gratitude houses to people with meritorious services to the revolution; providing 529 savings books, nurturing 100% of Vietnamese heroic mothers; handling gifts worth VND16,139 million, gathering ashes of more than 300 martyrs, and upgrading 6 martyrs cemeteries with the total cost of nearly 43,800 million.

Reportedly, in the upcoming time, the province plans to focus on well implementing the preferential treatment policy, striving to take care of all war invalids, diseased soldiers, and fallen heroes’ relatives who are now lonely in the province, and raising the living standards of poor families with meritorious services to the revolution. Moreover, the province also plans to upgrade martyrs cemeteries, building gravestones on which martyrs’ names are curved for those whose ashes are not found, and ensuring the policy on moving martyrs graves as their relatives requested. The province will boost the contribution to the Gratitude Fund and the socialization movement on caring for the material and spiritual life of revolutionary contributors, assisting them in household economy and life stabilization.
