A Great Many of Activities Held to Celebrate the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Vietnamese Students’ Day (Jan. 1, 1950-Jan. 1, 2010), in two days (between Jan. 1 and 2) in the provincial complex of culture and sports, Dong Nai Youth Union held a camp festival themed “Dong Nai Young Power” and core of the camp was the get-together and the ceremony commending 60 examples of students with five aspects of brilliant achievements in Dong Nai in 2009.

    Certain activities such as meetings, talks on the theme of “ideals of new age youth”; granting “Sao Thang Gieng” award, job consultancy and orientation for students took place. Besides, music performances, food and drink contests and traditional games were held. Especially the two contests namely ideas for Building a Friendly School - Motivated Students and Light up Dreams of Vietnamese Youth. In addition, 60 years of traditions of Vietnam students were revised; attendees paid a visit to Tran Van On statue, his family in Buu Hoa ward and granted five scholarships (each worth VND500) to poor students in Tran Van On Primary School.
