According the report released by the Provincial Labor Federation, in 2009, there have been 42 labor disputes joined by a group of more than 9,000 workers starting in Dong Nai, down 143 incidents compared with 2008, in which foreign invested enterprises are dominant with 34 disputes, domestic invested firms are involved in seven and one is embroiled in a US joint venture company.

Reason accounting for the
disputes is that laborers stop working, asking employers to solve relevant
issues, such as wages, bonuses, allowances for housing, traveling and mid-shift
meals, signing employment contracts in line with regulations, overtime work cut,
policies supporting female laborers, improving working conditions, labor safety
and sanitation, etc.
